August 18 - As you know by now, I've been cooking for my family friends, basically like second parents, Bob and Brenda. They are AMAZING people who gave me such an exciting and rewarding opportunity that'll I'll always be thankful for. Since Brenda encouraged and loved this blog so much, I thought it only seemed fitting for her to be a part of it. So, here's a note from Brenda reflecting on her summer with me as her personal chef.

Everyone who knows me realizes that cooking is not “my gift”. I’ve never been much of a cook as evidenced by my most notorious foray into cooking, which is commonly referred to as “the petrified chicken affair”. This tragic recipe was created when I inadvertently deserted my chicken and artichoke casserole in my oven for one calendar year. Yes, I abandoned my casserole leftovers in my oven for a year and never realized it. No one needs a Summer Chef more than I do.
As you can imagine, based on my level of skill and ability, the idea of hiring Adrianna to cook for my husband and I for the summer was truly brilliant. Adrianna has a passion for food and cooking and I have a passion for eating – the perfect match! I couldn’t be more proud of Adrianna, she never ceases to amaze me. Every week Adrianna brought her enthusiasm for cooking, food and wine to our home and quite honestly it was contagious. In addition to enjoying some incredible meals, we also shared a lot of laughs and a lot of fun.
I’m delighted to say that nearly all of our meals and food explorations were successful. Despite my over confidence in stating that I could teach Adrianna how to make risotto, our risotto didn’t come out half bad! The chocolate souffle was something else entirely, as I am not certain that souffle should be like a pudding or hot lava cake. It tasted good though.
If you are reading this blog then you know that Adrianna has done a great job documenting her Summer Chef experience. She is an amazing young woman and I can’t wait to see where her life journey takes her. What I know most of all, is that not only will I miss her delicious cooking and enthusiasm for food, I most certainly will miss her joyful spirit and enthusiasm.
Adrianna, when you are featured on Chef’s Table I will be proud to say “I knew you when”! I love you.
